feeling crafty

I had a day of being crafty, I finally finished my little screen printing projects.
T-towels for my friend at Taylor Made chocolates and one little amazing artist got her drawing on a T-towel and t-shirts as a little surprise :)

 bubba modelling her new dress

the pillow did a better job sitting still

Tried my best to sew my bubba a dress. A reversable one which now has bright side tag, not what I had in mind but not bad for my first go.

Muffins

I'm no Jamie Oliver that's for sure, I like things quick and easy.
All the ingredients have to be readily available in my pantry and that's hard to come by in my house.
Luckily Donna Hay is a cook book I have with lovely pictures, I like to know what my finish product will be before I even attempt to cook it.

Now these are my new thing to cook in my kitchen,
Donna Hay no-fuss blueberry muffins YUMMO!
Here is the recipe:
In a bowl combine
2 cups sifted self-raising flour,
1/2 cup caster sugar,
2 eggs,
1/3 cup vegetable oil
and 1 cup sour cream and mix well.
Sprinkle the mixture with 1 cup fresh or unthawed frozen blueberries and then spoon into 1 cup capacity muffin tins. (Ive been using choc chips and strawberrys)
Bake in a preheated 180 C oven for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through.

And a picture to show the yumminess, I even think there quite healthy.

One happy traveller

We went to Tassie for 2 weeks for our first family holiday.
It was a great way to see how Bubba went with travelling, She was great, 6 months is a perfect age to travel, not too much rolling or crawling to worry about and feeding is easy.
Arhh Tassie you are a great place to see, loved catching up with family, friends and awesome country side to see.

 I love travelling mum :)

My little Princess

Little miss went to her first Ballerina party the other week.
So I decided to make her a tutu, not just any tutu but one fit for a princess.
I used the very easy knot tutu design, here is one blog with a great step by step instructions, only wish I knew where to find tulle on a roll.

detail of the knots and the pretty colours

all finished with a matching top

Little miss trying it on for size, I think she likes it
of course there are no picture of her on the day looking like a princess

Fresh country air

We headed down south toward the Stirling Ranges for our first week away with bub,
and we survived the harsh Bushland, well we had power, gas, hot water all the mod cons
out in the middle of the stirling ranges.
It was so nice to get away and just be out of the house and have different walls to look at.
We did do a little more than that, we climbed Castle mountain just out of Albany,
spent the day in Albany visiting some old friends, lots of walking, rabbit hunting and enjoying the open air toilet.

Screen printing

Finally I found some time between wet nappies and sleep time to do some screen printing.
My screen has a few designs to try, can't wait to see how they all turn out.
Here is my first design for tea-towels

screen ready to go

The finished product, not the best picture but you get the idea

One pot wonder

What does a new mum do when she want to impress the hubby with her cooking, but doesn't have time or the patience and a screaming baby at 5pm..
Google 'easy food' and buy a big metal casserole pot.
This is the most easiest recipe ever found here and the yummiest, it impressed the hubby and even my mum.
Ive made it with any type of meat, just let it simmer for a few hours, grab some fresh bread and red wine and you have a happy family :)

Bub's room all ready and waiting

I have finished work and have gone nesting crazy.
Cleaning baby clothes, organising cupboards
and too many visits to IKEA and baby shops.
Finally the baby room is done... YEAH time to put my feet up.
Red and green was my starting point with animals as the theme,
I'm sure bub will feel cosy with her fury friends.

Animals

I seem to be leaning toward an animal theme for my baby nursery
and doing my best to avoid pink.
Red seems to be the colour that i keep pick up.

I'm loving all things swedish at the moment

Books can be spineless

One of my London finds at the design expo, BOOKS.
Not just a book with pages but a whole book created into a huge poster, yep on one page.
I'm loving these.
Best not to hang it in you toilet, guest might be there for a while reading it.

baby names

How hard is it to come up with a baby name, knowing that the child has to live with it for life and some
little school kid will think up a horrible nick name for him/her no matter how hard you try to come up with a safe, trendy and non- ryhming name.
This is a must for parents to look at and to NOT pick any of theses names,

Australian Beaches

We got away over the christmas break, and spent most of our time, on the beaches down south either;
fishing, beach cricket or just enjoy God's beauty.
Wow we sure do have some of the best beach in the world!!
